Less than a year after the release of their #1 album RUSHMERE in March of 2025, Mumford & Sons is gearing up for the release of their sixth album, Prizefighter. Ahead of its release, which Marcus Mumford has described as the “most excited” he has been about any of their albums, the band has released the album’s title track, “Prizefighter,” “Rubber Band Man (with Hozier),” and now, “The Banjo Song.”
Co-written and co-produced with Aaron Dessner of The National, a longtime collaborator since Wilder Mind, Prizefighter finds the band working on instinct and openness. Written over an intense ten-day stretch, the songs feel personal yet shared, driven by Marcus Mumford’s urgent, resilient lyrics. Much of the record took shape in cafés around Hudson and late-night sessions at Long Pond, capturing first takes and the simple thrill of playing together again.
Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, Gigi Perez, and Aaron Dessner collaborated with Mumford & Sons, further demonstrating the band’s commitment to community and connection.
Prizefighter is set to drop February 20th via Glassnote Records. Pre-save the album here.
Mumford & Sons are set to return to Hyde Park for the first time in a decade, headlining London’s BST Hyde Park in July with special guests The War On Drugs. They will also hit several massive outdoor stages over the summer with performances in Groningen, Rome, and Berlin. Tickets can be purchased here.
