Good Night Moon to release self-titled EP January 23

After nearly two decades, South Florida’s Good Night Moon has returned, announcing the re-recording of their self-titled EP set to drop January 23. Fans of emo, post-hardcore, and pop-punk are sure to enjoy the revitalized and modernized collection of songs, produced by Matt Marino (Fame on Fire, MGK) and Ian Marchionda (Suck Brick Kid, Superbloom), mixed by Aaron Marsh (Copeland), and mastered by Jonathan Berlin (Underoath, Anberlin), all longtime friends and collaborators that helped Good Night Moon keep the project local, something that was important to the band. “It’s a reflection of the community that helped us grow, both musically and personally.”

Regarding the EP, vocalist JB Corey shared: “We only kept songs that translated well 20 years later. These songs about heart break, healing, and growing as a person still resonate at 36 as they did at 16. Maybe they are in different context but I still feel like the same person when we wrote these songs and their meaning just hits different now.”

Along with the EP, Good Night Moon has announced their first live performances in over 10 years, taking over the stages of their old stomping grounds, playing Swampgrass Willie’s (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) on April 17th and Will’s Pub (Orlando, FL) on April 18th. Both dates will feature special guests Five Cent Wish and Northvale. Good Night Moon was a staple of the Florida music scene through the early 2000s, earning opening slots for bands like Bayside and Hellogoodbye before headlining their own shows and appearing on festival lineups alongside acts such as Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance, prior to disbanding in 2009.

Revisiting these songs after two decades has been surreal,” said the band. “They’ve been melodies stuck in our heads for 20 years — to finally bring them back to life and share them with our fans friends and families has been a full-circle experience.
