Daughter releases “Not Enough” in celebration of 10th anniversary of ‘Not to Disappear’

In celebration of the ten-year anniversary of Not to Disappear, Daughter has released “Not Enough.” Produced by Igor Haefeli, mixed by Nicolas Vernhes, and recorded at London’s Total Refreshment studio in November 2025, the track was originally written and demoed during the album’s sessions in 2015.

“’Not Enough’ didn’t find its place on Not To Disappear, but we always loved it — we even played it live a few times before it went back to being a demo buried on a hard-drive. To mark the album’s 10th anniversary, we wanted to revisit some of the unfinished threads from that era. In November 2025, we finally all found ourselves in London again and recorded ’Not Enough’ in the studio together. We live in different places now, and some of our recent work has happened remotely, so this felt like old times.”

Produced by Haefeli alongside Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, The War on Drugs), Not To Disappear was recorded in the summer of 2015 at Vernhes’ Rare Book Room studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Upon its release in January 2016, the album entered the UK Albums Chart in the Top 20, coinciding with Daughter headlining shows across North and South America, Australia, and Asia. The year culminated in a landmark performance to a sold-out audience at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

Daughter formed in London in 2010 and first gained attention through their independently released EPs His Young Heart and Wild Youth. This early momentum led to two UK Top 20 albums, If You Leave (2013) and Not to Disappear (2016). In 2017, the band expanded into scoring with Music from Before the Storm, created for the video game “Life Is Strange: Before the Storm,” earning their first Ivor Novello Award nomination. Elena Tonra later introduced her solo project, Ex:Re, releasing a self-titled album in 2018 recorded at 4AD’s basement studio in London. After relocating from their original London base — Aguilella to Portland, Oregon, and Haefeli to Bristol — Daughter returned in 2023 with Stereo Mind Game.
